This book is a small gem. Differences are good and so is this book. Highly recommended. ~J.B.
This book conveys the message that each of us has a different skill, purpose, opinion. It teaches children to acknowledge and respect these differences. For example, the bird does not give milk like the cow, but contributes beautiful music to the world. The wording purposely mixes masculine and feminine pronouns.
The illustrations are of friendly looking animals, as one can see from those on the cover. Each animal on the cover has a dedicated page within the book's content. The background color is soothing, and the illustrations by this young author are well done.
This is perfect for beginning readers. There are a total of three contractions, all of which are the same word. The lettering is of a size that shouldn't require most adult/parent readers to find a pair of glasses, which I find appealing for those who may be grandparents!
Yes, I have the same last name as the author. I purchases this book on Amazon months ago when it was first released, and I am exercising my right to write a review! I personally know many who have purchased this particular book, and young children love it. Even if you don't buy this particular book, I encourage that new parents read, read, read to your children every single day from the time they are born. For this reason, the author of this book was reading at the age of 3 1/2, and produced this nice piece of work while still in high school.
