"When I first took a glance at this book, I was kind of skeptical about reading it. I really didn't understand the title, nor did I understand where the author was going with the title of the book. The blurb on the back of the book didn't give much away about the story either, but I always have learned, the hard way mind you, to never judge a book by its cover. So, I dived, head first, into the story, not know what was to come. The Prologue was shocking and had really piqued my curiosity enough to make me keep reading. The more I read, the more I found myself wanting, no craving, to read more. This story fixated around real life characters, though fictitious, made me feel as if I was living the story with the characters.
The stories within the story, known only to the characters until the author deemed it the right time to tell me what they meant, were heart-wrenching, yes, but incredible at the same time. The author knew the right time and place to let out the characters deepest, darkest secrets, which in turn made this book more interesting to read.
This story really took a surprising turn of events that I was not expecting and I had a hard time wrapping my brain around the incredible shocking events. This author is a genius!! I am literally happy at the way the story turned out and I now have a clear concept of where the author was going with the title and the cover of the book. This book has made me a fan of this author's style of writing and if you have yet to discover this author's talent for writing, I suggest you check her out. It's quite the spectacular read and I highly recommend it. This book not only gets my five book review, but it gets an award for becoming my favorite story of 2016. This is a story that I will treasure and I will find myself going back and re-reading it over and over again. "

"I must admit, that at first, I was slightly skeptical about reading this book, but I never turn down an opportunity to read a new to me author. So, I started reading the book. At first, the story seemed a little crazy and slightly off to me, and it's for sure not something I have ever read before. This story has quite a unique twist to it. I was just as confused about the story as the character, Raychel, was. I was actually kind of confused and yet intrigued by it all. I know that this book is fiction, but it really got me thinking about the real Purgatory, Heaven, and Hell. This story reeled me in so much that I was hanging onto every written word on the turn of every page. I couldn't put this book down. This author is a pure genius and the story-line really kept me guessing. Everything I thought I had figured out was wrong as each turn of events were unraveled. I loved Raychel and her attitude toward everything she saw. Absolutely nothing kept her from seeking out answers, even though some of them were vague. This author did a fabulous job bringing this book to life and making me feel as if it was real and all the events that happened were real. As the events unfolded, I was able to have a vivid picture in my mind of what was happening. I must say 'BRAVO' to the author for writing such a captivating story. I believe that this book would be fun to watch on the big screen and deserves an award for its uniqueness and originality. This book not only gets my five book review, but a standing ovation too. I highly recommend this story to all adults. It's memorable and fun read." ~Jenny Bynum; http://blackwords-whitepages1977.blogspot.com/
In Out of the Darkness and Into the Light, Vanessa brings to life characters we can't help rooting for because they're so much like us in our strengths and our weaknesses. She interweaves the characters into the plot and moves us along quickly, and emotionally. I encourage you to read this book to learn about spiritual warfare, and ways in which we become slaves to bondage and fear. The ending left me wanting more, and I'm looking forward to the next book.

I just finished Kismet...all I can say is I want more. The writing was so good I didn't want to put it down and when I had to I found myself thinking about it, thinking about what was going to happen next. CANNOT wait to start Karma. Jamie, I definitely see a bright future for you...
This book is so deeply spiritual in a context deeper than what we know as spiritual. The love for your son emanated from every page. The self-exploration was profound! True parenting begins with soul searching within ourselves. And it becomes a journey and not just an experience when we trust ourselves to be all that our children need us to be from childhood through adulthood. Great Book! I really enjoyed it! ~Veronica Thomas, RN
These poems will move you by evoking how things are. Some of the poems in this diverse collection are lofty. Others are earthy. They can be difficult, easy, lighthearted, sober, fun. They share beauty by speaking the truth.

I haven’t read poetry in probably twenty years. These poems engaged me, and I enjoyed reading and reflecting on them. They are accessible and relevant, and painted pictures that brought my own values and experiences to bear.
~ John O'Hara, JD
This is an admirable collection, for its range and for its humility, from wonderfully rendered translations, to fixed-form poems, to its casually powerful memory narratives and freer verse. And "collection" is the proper term, here, since the final sense one gets from this carefully made variety is one of gathering, gathering God and family and nature into a set of reflections that deliver the breadth of one life into a complete impression. So what passes is what is, forever / transformed from within or not at all, the last poem claims, and to read this volume is to share in that transformation, to read work that merges what is within us to what we are without. ~Edward Haworth Hoeppner, PhD
If you're looking for a quick, fun read with delightful characters and rip-roaring adventure then I would highly recommend this read. ~Karlee
The Sun Never Sets was a nice light entertaining book in the Steam Punk style. Bowler hats off to Cate Caldwell and Matt Pearson on their first book. ~Matt
The Sun Never Sets was a quick and enjoyable read. The story is fast paced and does not get bogged down with details. The book gives a good feel for the time period with a great mix of characters. A great read if you like aviation and the pioneer spirit. ~Craig
Although he is my brother – I was very inspired while and after reading this book. I learned a lot about Jim that I did not know before – and was very impressed to see his secret to success. I am proud to be his sibling as well as how he has taken hold of his life and family and faith and make it all work. Truly an Inspiration.
From the moment I picked up and started reading, Out of the Darkness & Into the Light I was hooked. I couldn't put it down. It was a very good book. Reality and fiction all in one. I could hardly stop reading it. I can't wait for the next book! ~Lois Cumper
This book had me from the beginning! The author made me feel so close to the characters - it was very difficult to put down!! I can't wait for the next book in her series to come out. ~Kathy Hale
Not as much a plot-driven novel as the author's version of The Afterlife. The characters exist - even after death - to project the author's tongue-in-cheek description of Heaven and Hell ... and that other place. The book is an interesting exercise in re-defining...~Harold
This book had an interesting take on life after death and it was written in an easy to read format. It was quick to get through and somewhat fun to read. ~Chrisa
This book was a very different perspective. Very interesting. ~Holly Stout

This was a book club choice, and the author was kind enough to do a Q&A with the members. I found this book to be an easy, light summer read. Enjoyed the setting very much. I had some problems with some of the editing, but overall a good three stars. Recommend for a day at the beach (or pool!).
~Catherine A. Fitzgerald
Mary Ann Back's collection of short stories, Dead Reckoning, was fabulous! I loved the variety and each were incredibly well written. I cannot wait to read more from her! ~ Julie Back
I'm a grandma and I would love to have these adventures with my grandsons!! This book is amazing and when my grandkids visit me they love to read it. Good investment and great pictures. Definitely we recommend the book." ~Maritza
This book is pretty interesting and I love how my kids can learn from it. I love how the author describes the life in the cabin and how you can feel and live the book like if you where there. Excellent book!!" ~Gyovanna
I love this book because it reminds me how fun it is to be in a cabin. I love all the animals but my favorite is Little red and Chloe because they love cherries like me.: ~Liam N.
I purchased this book yesterday (January 16, 2016) and read it in one day. It’s a book that you just have to keep reading until you finish it. It starts of simply enough with a situation we’ve all had to deal with, waiting in a doctor’s office. But then there’s a jump and a twist and then you cannot stop reading. The characters are interesting, engaging, and somewhat mysterious. At some point I was suspicious of and second guessing everyone as I tried to figure out what was going on. It’s a mystery mixed in with some science fiction elements or it’s science fiction mixed in with some mystery elements. It’s a paradox for sure. Just when I thought I had it all figured out, there was another twist. Even after I finished it I still wasn’t sure I had it figured out and went back to re-read a few passages. It’s definitely a must read and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I highly recommend it. ~Valerie Winston
